Real Estate Development by Euro Disney is the real estate division of the Euro Disney group responsible for developing the Val d’Europe territory, both as a tourist destination and an urban area. This initiative is the result of a unique public-private partnership in France. Val d’Europe is part of a General Interest Project aimed at the combined development of Europe’s leading tourist destination—Disneyland® Paris—and a region contributing to the economic and demographic balance of the eastern Paris Region area: Val d’Europe.
The Val d’Europe territory offers a unique configuration in Europe, combining a major international hub for tourism and business with an exceptional quality of life.
The development of Val d’Europe is governed by an agreement signed in 1987 between the French State, the Region, the Department, the RATP (Paris Regional transport authority), the Public Development Authority of Sector IV of the New Town of Marne-la-Vallée, and The Walt Disney Company. The agreement proposed to join the harmonious and sustainable development of both Europe’s premier tourist destination (Disneyland Paris) and a whole region, Val d’Europe, in a way that would bolster and balance the growth of the Paris Region.
Covering an area of over 2,100 hectares, this unique partnership has, halfway through its implementation, created a prosperous territory. It has also enhanced the area, turning it into a lively, accessible, and dynamic hub for living, working, and leisure.
The collaboration between the State (EPA France), local authorities (Val d’Europe Agglomération), and Euro Disney (Real Estate Development by Euro Disney) has led to the settlement of over 53,000 residents, the creation of 48,000 jobs, and the establishment of more than 8,300 businesses in the area over the past few decades, creating a remarkable central hub on a European scale.
