The 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, a springboard for Paris Region's appeal

The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games marked a turning point for Paris Region, and Choose Paris Region played a key role in making the event an unprecedented lever of attractiveness. The agency mobilized all its resources to welcome investors, visitors, image producers and talents from all over the world and provide them with a 360° experience.

During the Games, the Choose Paris Region agency worked hard to welcome investors, visitors, film producers and talents from all over the world, and to promote Paris Region's assets. This is the culmination of a long process of teamwork in the service of a legacy that will strengthen Paris Region's attractiveness for years to come.

4 billion television viewers discovered or rediscovered the destination, 4 million visitors were welcomed during the summer.

Choose Paris Region's commitment ensured a continuous presence in the field and organized several influential meetings and events. These initiatives have allowed us to highlight our region's excellence and forge strong links with key partners in strategic sectors such as industry, artificial intelligence, healthcare and finance.
Through its 4 pillars, the Agency has put in place 4 types of actions: actions aimed at investors and economic influencers; production and distribution of content; influencing actions aimed at press targets; and actions linked to welcoming visitors.

Over 1,500 companies and partners were contacted, including more than 500 C-levels and international decision-makers who actually attended. Events include themed Explorer Tours, Olympic and Paralympic sports sessions, events at the Musée Marmottan Monet to coincide with the opening of the Olympic Games, and at the Musée d'Orsay to coincide with the closing of the Olympic Games.

10.5 million visitors were reached by communication campaigns via 28,000 long-haul flights. Choose Paris Region also achieved an 89.2 million audience coverage through press actions during the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

In this way, the Agency was able to highlight the solid assets of Europe's No. 1 region through the Games experience and the exploration of remarkable Olympic and non-Olympic sites.

Since the city was awarded the Games, 130 foreign direct investments have been registered, which have generated nearly 14,000 direct, indirect and induced jobs in the region. These projects are supported by Choose Paris Region at every stage: before, during and after the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Through its unique exchange platform, the agency capitalized on the global effervescence of the Games to attract the attention of leading economic stakeholders, with the ambition of setting up new projects. This investment is part of a long-term vision designed to strengthen Paris Region's position in the international competition between the world's major cities, and to promote new project areas.
